#IAMWHOLE / SECONDARY SCHOOL PACK
Schools have a vital role to play in supporting children and young people’s mental health and wellbeing.
In the research YMCA conducted last year for the #IAMWHOLE campaign, young people told us that schools were the best place to tackle the stigma that surrounds mental health difficulties.
81% of those who recognised the stigma associated with mental health said school is the best place to combat it.
This is why the #IAMWHOLE campaign is reaching out to schools across the UK and Ireland to get involved in tackling this stigma.
To help you join the campaign, we have produced a pack we are making available to all secondary schools in the UK and Ireland.
The pack contains:
- A range of materials you can display around the school, including posters and fact sheets on mental health and stigma.
- A simple exercise you can use to help your students understand and challenge stigma.
- A link to a short video introducing the issue and the #IAMWHOLE campaign.
Join us to help end mental health stigma once and for all.
